Fundació Lacetània

Connecting vocational education with local employers

Fundació Lacetània is a Manresa-based nonprofit that promotes vocational education in the Bages region. It brings local schools into an affiliated network and serves as a link between those schools and the business community. The foundation marks 35 years of work in 2026.

What the foundation does

• Affiliated schools: maintains a network of institutes with which it works on an ongoing basis.
• Company internships: arranges work placements for students.
• Job board: connects students and graduates of member schools with employers.
• Academic and career guidance: provides advising, skills recognition, and information about professional certificates.
• Training opportunities: shares vocational programs offered by member schools and organizes continuing-education courses.
• Fundació Lacetània Awards: an annual competition recognizing outstanding high school and vocational projects in Bages. In 2025, 13 projects in areas such as robotics, industrial automation, design, education, and virtual reality received awards; that year's ceremony also marked the awards' 25th anniversary.
• Events and projects: organizes initiatives such as El Puntal, the Fira de l'Estudiant student fair, and the Talent & Empresa Congress.

Industry 4.0 and business partnerships

The foundation's Centre de Formació Pràctica, the Metalworkers' Association of Central Catalonia, and Maccion promote collaboration among metal-industry businesses adopting Industry 4.0 technologies. They form working groups of companies that are not direct competitors.
