LineoX
A wholesale Spanish telecommunications network using more than 10,800 microwave radio-link circuits to connect mobile operators and enterprise customers, including in rural areas.
About LineoX
Wholesale connectivity over microwave links
LineoX operates a nationwide network of microwave radio links used to carry data between network sites. Axión describes the network as having more than 10,800 circuits across Spain, with point-to-point IP connections reaching speeds of up to 2 Gbps. The service supports both rural and urban coverage, including areas where fiber is not available.
Infrastructure for operators and businesses
LineoX is a wholesale infrastructure provider rather than a retail internet service for households. Its network supports mobile backhaul and point-to-point business connectivity, helping connect mobile sites and enterprise locations across the country.
A 2026 ownership change
Telefónica announced an agreement to acquire LineoX from Asterion in June 2026. Spain’s competition regulator, the CNMC, authorized the transaction in the first phase on July 20, 2026. The announcement marks a significant change in the ownership of a network originally carved out from Telefónica in 2020.
