Daoro is a family-run wholesaler of fresh fish, in business since 1980. It operates from Stall 131 in the Mercamadrid fish market, where its commercial operation has been based since the food market opened. The company distributes fresh fish and seafood to retailers and restaurants in the Madrid region and nearby provinces.

Specialties

Daoro specializes in oily fish and a selection of rockfish, with four highlighted products:

• Anchovies: Small oily fish rich in omega-3 and in strong demand from restaurants and foodservice businesses.
• Rockfish: A carefully selected part of its offering.
• Bluefin tuna: Available from fish farms and from traditional almadraba trap fisheries when in season.

Family History

In the mid-1970s, two brothers from Cádiz came to Madrid and began working at the central fish market, then located at Puerta de Toledo square. When the Mercamadrid fish market opened in 1982, they established Stall 131. Their children continue to operate it today.
