Aircraft component maintenance and repair

Aerospace Engineering Group (AEG) is an independent maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider for aircraft components, based in Spain. Founded in 2000, it serves airlines, tier-one MRO providers, and parts stockists. Its facilities in Madrid, Bilbao, and Seville each specialize in different technical areas.

Services

• Component repair and overhaul: hydraulic, electrical, and lighting systems; fuel systems; communications and navigation; landing-gear accessories; air conditioning and pressurization; doors and hatches; engine and APU accessories; flight controls; lavatory equipment; and nondestructive testing.
• Rewinding and engineering solutions: AEG describes itself as one of the few independent European providers with in-house rewinding capability, allowing it to take on repairs that other shops send to the manufacturer.
• Sales and inventory: components ready to ship for aircraft-on-ground (AOG) emergencies.

Approvals and capabilities

AEG maintains civil-aircraft components under EASA Part 145, FAA, and UK CAA approvals, and military aircraft components under AQAP/PECAL 2110 and PERAM 145. The company lists seven approvals: EASA, FAA, UK CAA, PERAM, PECAL, and CAAC. It repairs more than 4,000 components a year, with an average turnaround time of 16 days and more than 25 years of industry experience.

Facilities

Operations are divided among three locations: Madrid (sales offices), Bilbao (power generation), and Seville (hydraulics, fuel, and avionics).
