About Fundación Summa Humanitate
About the foundation
Fundación Summa Humanitate (FSH) is a nonprofit founded by a group of committed Catholic laypeople. It is independent of any religious congregation, institute, movement, diocese, company, or government agency. The foundation was created to serve the Catholic Church and help sustain and share its work.
Who it serves
The foundation works with communities of older sisters and brothers, clergy residences, and senior living facilities. Its work centers on comprehensive care for priests, nuns, monks, and older residents, as well as support for the communities and organizations it serves.
Services
- Care: Comprehensive, respectful, person-centered care designed to support dignity and well-being, with ethical, professional, and quality-focused management.
- Companionship: Individual or community support through attentive listening and a steady presence in daily life and at meaningful moments.
- Training: Programs to improve care and support caregivers, encouraging self-care and professional development.
The Vita Summa model
The foundation's model is grounded in a particular approach to service and care: respecting each person's dignity, providing support, promoting whole-person health, and helping people age well with purpose, positivity, and fulfillment. At the community level, it respects each community's way of life and encourages spaces for connection, relationships, and collaboration.
Events and training
The foundation organizes events and activities, including the fourth Humanitate Congress, scheduled to take place in person on October 6 and 7, 2026, under the theme “The Challenge of Accompanying Others and Allowing Ourselves to Be Accompanied.” Registration is free, with limited space. It also offers training through Instituto Humanitate for the 2026–27 academic year.
Transparency
The foundation maintains a transparency section on its website with information about its management.
