Social inclusion and intercultural support

Asociación Horuelo is an independent nonprofit founded in 2000 by professionals in intercultural community work. Its headquarters are in Madrid, and it runs social-inclusion projects in four regions: Madrid, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and León, and Aragon.

Its work focuses on children, young people, and families facing vulnerability, with particular attention to young people from immigrant backgrounds. The association combines welcome and orientation, education, community-based services, and employment support through an intercultural approach.

Programs by region

• Madrid: welcome and orientation, intercultural community life, employment support, and services for women in vulnerable situations.
• Castile-La Mancha: educational awareness, community engagement, children's participation, and direct services for children and young people.
• Castile and León: comprehensive support for young people in rural areas, social and workplace inclusion, and community revitalization.
• Aragon: social-intervention projects adapted to local needs.

Scale and reach

Horuelo reports working directly with young people each year and operates across several autonomous regions through local projects and partner networks.

Partnerships

Since its founding, Horuelo has worked through networks and coordination groups, including Fundación Cepaim, EAPN, FEAP, REAS, the Castile-La Mancha Child Welfare Roundtable, and the INTEGRACCIÓN network in the Community of Madrid. It also exchanges knowledge with European organizations.

The association accepts donations and volunteers and provides a reporting channel and a transparency section with relevant documents.
