About ADO - Asociación de Deportes Olímpicos

Olympic Sponsorship Program

The Asociación de Deportes Olímpicos (ADO) is a Spanish organization established in 1988 to manage a sponsorship program for Spain’s Olympic team. It raises contributions from corporate sponsors and directs them to scholarships and comprehensive support for elite athletes selected in Olympic sports.

ADO was established by three founding partners: the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), the National Sports Council (CSD), and Spanish public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE). In June 2025, they renewed their cooperation agreement through the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Scholarships and Athlete Support

ADO awards each selected athlete a scholarship based on results in their Olympic sport. The goal is to provide financial support that allows athletes to prepare for the Olympic Games. The program is presented as a sponsorship channel that supports elite athletes’ finances and training.

Program Figures

  • €360 million received from corporate sponsors
  • 12,000 scholarships funded for Olympic athletes
  • 164 Olympic medals won by scholarship recipients
  • Eight Olympic cycles covered, from Barcelona 1992 through Paris 2024
