About ORVET — Veterans’ Choir of the Royal Association of Veterans of the Armed Forces and Civil Guard
A Veterans’ Choir With a Distinctive Repertoire
ORVET is the choir of the Royal Association of Veterans of Spain’s Armed Forces and Civil Guard. Founded in 2019, it brings together veterans and their families around a repertoire rooted in Spanish military and ceremonial music.
From Military Works to Zarzuela
Marches and military songs are central to the group’s identity, but its concerts also include zarzuela, habaneras, pasodobles, sacred music, and newer works. ORVET has performed with military music units and appeared at events for veterans, while its own concert calendar shows performances in Madrid and other Spanish cities.
The group’s sound is built for four-part choral singing, with women included in the ensemble. Its focus on a less commonly heard strand of Spanish musical culture makes ORVET a distinctive presence in Madrid’s choral scene.
