About FIAP

Fundación para la Internacionalización de las Administraciones Públicas (FIAP) is a public foundation within Spain's international cooperation system. It promotes public policy and strengthens public institutions by facilitating knowledge exchange among peer institutions in different countries.

Its work is part of Spain's and the European Union's international engagement and has two main mandates: development cooperation aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals and Spain's Master Plan for Development Cooperation; and international engagement focused on the global work of public administrations and the building of international partnerships.

Scale and figures

According to figures published by FIAP for 2023, it connects more than 700 institutions worldwide and engages more than 650 public-sector professionals each year. It reports an average annual revenue of €59 million in project implementation and 121 projects underway. The foundation operates in more than 120 countries.

Activities and publications

FIAP shares its work through news, a blog, podcasts, multimedia, and publications. Its newsletter has two editions: Talento Público para el Mundo and Europa Pública. Topics include fighting organized crime, data protection in Latin America, money laundering and asset recovery, and information systems used to combat criminal organizations.
