About Terra Carpetana
Bringing the Carpetani past to life
Terra Carpetana is a historical-reenactment association based in Madrid. Its work focuses on sharing and reconstructing the history of the Carpetani, a pre-Roman people of the central Iberian plateau. Drawing on classical and archaeological sources, the group recreates clothing, weapons, everyday objects, and daily life in Carpetania.
A period shaped by Carthage and Rome
The group’s reenactments focus on the late third to mid-second centuries BCE, when Carthaginians and Romans entered the Iberian Peninsula. The period includes the events leading up to the Second Punic War and the Battle of the Tagus.
