About Fundación Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid
Madrid’s orchestra and choir, on stage and in the community
Fundación Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM) supports the Community of Madrid Orchestra and Choir, ensembles with more than three decades of activity and an established place in Spain’s classical music scene. The orchestra is the resident ensemble of Teatro de la Zarzuela and is led by principal conductor and artistic director Alondra de la Parra. The choir, led by Javier Carmena, has a four-decade history and is closely associated with zarzuela, alongside symphonic, sacred, and contemporary repertoire.
The 2026–27 concert season
ORCAM presents a regular series at the Auditorio Nacional de Música, divided into a symphonic cycle and the Tiempo de Cámara chamber-music series. The 2026–27 season includes 18 concerts, with season subscriptions and discounts available. The program also includes Escena Escorial, a performing-arts festival, and an archive of concerts from previous seasons.
Youth ensembles and social music
Educational programs for young instrumentalists and singers include the Joven Orquesta (JORCAM), Pequeños Cantores, Joven Camerata, and Coro Infantil, with auditions and admissions held periodically. The social program Coro Abierto “A tu Ritmo” uses music learning to promote inclusion. The foundation also opens auditions for orchestra positions, including violin tutti and cello.
Beyond the concert hall
ORCAM offers space rentals and ways for individuals, businesses, and institutions to collaborate, in addition to an ethics channel.
