About VOLTUS
Portable charging stations for venues
VOLTUS is a Spanish company based in Madrid that designs and installs portable power bank stations for hotels, restaurants, gyms, coworking spaces, shops, and events. Customers at a venue can take a portable battery, charge a phone, and return the battery to any station in the network. The company says no app or account registration is required.
Three business models
VOLTUS offers venues three ways to add a station:
- Amenity: a one-time purchase of €495 for a station and eight batteries. Charging is free for the venue's customers, with no monthly fees or maintenance charges and a two-year warranty.
- Partner: the venue buys a station and receives 70% of each charge; VOLTUS receives the remaining 30% and manages the software, payments, and SIM card. The station price is available from the company.
- Pay per use: no upfront investment for the venue. Users pay €2 per 30 minutes, up to €10 per day, and the venue receives 10% of sales. Payment is made at the station by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
Station models
The product line includes several formats for different spaces and levels of use:
- Voltus One: countertop model with a top button; no app or scanning required. Charging is free for customers. Holds eight power banks and is designed for restaurants, hotels, and shops.
- Voltus Vision: touchscreen station with multiple languages and contactless payment. Holds 12 power banks and is aimed at venues, events, and high-traffic areas.
- Voltus Tower: freestanding tower with a 43-inch advertising screen and contactless payment. Holds 32 power banks; designed for venues, airports, and events.
- Voltus Max: tower with a physical card terminal and locking compartments. Holds 48 power banks for high-traffic, 24/7 locations.
- Voltus Slim: narrow tower with tap-to-pay. Holds 24 power banks and is designed for tight spaces and retail.
How customers use it
The process is contactless: customers tap a phone or card, take a power bank, charge their device wherever they are, and return the battery to any VOLTUS station. No app, QR code, or registration is required, according to the company.
Advertising and customization
In addition to rental fees, venues can use station screens for their own advertising or for outside advertisers. VOLTUS says its advertising management generates €25–€50 per month; if a venue manages advertising itself, it keeps 75% of that revenue. Stations can be customized with a venue's logo and colors.
Clients and contact
VOLTUS says luxury brands and established groups, including Dior, Fendi, and Grupo Gastro Portal (Manero), use its network. For inquiries, email info@voltus.es. The company says it responds within 24 business hours.
