About Juanmadera

Juanmadera is a handcrafted woodworking and restoration shop led by Juan Manuel, who describes his work as hands-on and tailored to each project. The workshop, which he calls “El Rincón Mágico” (“The Magic Corner”), is outside Madrid, where projects are made, clients are seen and woodworking classes are held.

What the workshop makes

The shop works in three main areas:

• Cabinetmaking: tables, side tables, stools, bookcases, shelves, dressers and counters, among other pieces
• Wood crafts: cutting and serving boards, backpacker-style boards, wooden toys, boxes and cases, decorative objects, knife sheaths, trophies and corporate awards
• Restoration: full or partial restoration of old furniture damaged by age, along with antiques and other wood pieces

The workshop also offers laser engraving.

How projects work

Projects are made by hand and customized, using materials the shop describes as high quality and environmentally considerate. Work starts with a conversation to define the idea, followed by a quote and estimated completion time. In addition to commissions, the workshop offers cabinetmaking classes and courses.
