TuuuLibrería

Books with a second life

TuuuLibrería is a nonprofit association that promotes reading by recovering used books and vinyl records. It accepts donations, puts them back into circulation, and sells them at its Madrid bookstores and online. Buyers choose how much to pay for each item.

Madrid locations and donations

The association has two Madrid locations: TuuuLibrería Barrio de Salamanca at 78 Calle Padilla and TuuuLibrería Lavapiés at 11 Calle Embajadores. Both accept donations every day from 1 to 7 p.m. Books and records can also be mailed to those addresses. For larger donations, the organization may be able to arrange a pickup through an online form.

What you can donate

• Books of any type, condition, language, or age
• Vinyl records

It does not accept textbooks, except college or vocational-training textbooks; encyclopedias; dictionaries; magazines; CDs; or DVDs. Donations are limited to four packages, each no larger than 50 × 50 × 50 cm.

How donated books are used

• Sold in its bookstores and online at a price chosen by the buyer
• Given away at the entrances to its Madrid bookstores
• Donated to other social projects
• Donated to people who are unemployed or have a youth card
• Selected items sold through its Wallapop profile at half their market price
• Recycled when they can no longer be reused

Online shop and social media

The online shop also sells the organization's own products, including tote bags, mystery bags and books, the Recomendador Infantil children's book guide, pins, stickers, and calendars. Orders ship by courier in approximately three to five business days. Shipping is added to the total unless it is already included in the product price.

TuuuLibrería is on Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and publishes its own podcast.
