About CNI

Confederación Nacional de Instaladores y Mantenedores (CNI) is a national organization of provincial associations representing installation companies in Spain. Its headquarters are at 74 Calle Príncipe de Vergara, 28006 Madrid.

Member companies design, install, and maintain heating, air conditioning, ventilation, domestic hot-water, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems.

Representation and reach

CNI represents its member associations before public and private institutions and the media in Spain and Europe. It belongs to AREA, the European association for refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps, and represents the European online training platform REAL Alternatives 4 Life in Spain. It also participates in advisory groups for European projects such as HORIS, SeeTheSkills, and TRANSIT.

Technical and regulatory work

The confederation tracks and shares regulatory information relevant to the industry. Recent resources include an updated TEWI spreadsheet for calculating the environmental impact of refrigeration systems; analysis of the new 2025 Technical Guide to the RSCIEI and the process for qualifying as a professional in energy-performance certification; and information about public funding such as IDAE's INNOVAE program. CNI also organizes and attends industry trade shows and conferences, including Chillventa 2026 and DCD>Connect Madrid 2026.

Publications and resources

CNI publishes Revista CNI (issue 158). It also maintains industry news and press releases, free spreadsheets for installers, and a calendar of trade shows and conferences.
