Alcaparras Asensio Sanchez, S.L. is a family-owned company based in Almendricos, in Lorca, Murcia, Spain. It processes and sells capers, caperberries, and other Mediterranean appetizers. Its history dates to 1930, when Pedro Sánchez Pérez started the business in an area that was then one of Spain’s largest caper-producing regions. Pedro Asensio Sánchez established the current company in the 1970s, built a new factory, and developed proprietary technology for processing capers for international markets. The business is now in its fourth generation.

Business and products

The company’s main line is bulk industrial supply to food processors. It also packs products in glass and PET jars for supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and specialty food stores, under its own brand or customers’ private labels. Its range includes:

Its products are sold in more than 35 countries. The company has expanded into Morocco and Turkey through partnerships with industrial suppliers, gaining access to a wider range of Mediterranean products that are ultimately processed and marketed from its headquarters in Spain.
