The company’s roots are in gherkin farming along the Ebro River, an area that became Spain’s largest producer. Rioverde was established in 1976, continuing the work of pioneering companies such as Riojalna and Asperio, which were among the first to pasteurize and package this product in glass jars. The company says it has more than 45 years of activity.

Quality and Certifications

Rioverde uses a continuous improvement system called SMER (“Sistema Máxima Excellentia Rioverde”) and has a Quality Department responsible for food safety standards. Some products are organically certified, and the MSC label applies to its anchovy-stuffed olives.
