Universidad de La Rioja (UR) is a public university based in Logroño, Spain. It is part of the Campus Iberus alliance, recognized as an international campus of excellence, and created Dialnet, a database of Spanish-language scholarly literature.

Academic programs

UR offers official bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, along with its own credentials, microcredentials, and continuing education. For the 2026–27 academic year, it lists 19 official master's programs: 11 in person, three hybrid, and five online, including three new graduate programs.

Casa de las Lenguas offers English, French, German, Italian, and Chinese courses, as well as conversation, reading, and film clubs. Universidad de la Experiencia is open to older adults without prior academic requirements and is offered in Logroño, Calahorra, Haro, Arnedo, and Santo Domingo.

Research and knowledge transfer

UR has research groups, its own institutes—including the Scientific Computing Research Institute (SCRIUR) and the Chemistry Research Institute (IQUR)—and research-support services. Its Knowledge Transfer Office works with businesses and organizations on research, development, and innovation. The university also participates in international cooperation, including a project to strengthen university-level health education in El Salvador.

Services include a library, sports, cultural activities, science outreach, housing, transportation, Wi-Fi, and a smart university ID card (TUI). Digital tools include a virtual campus, webmail, Microsoft 365, and an electronic office. The university is also connected with Fundación de la Universidad de La Rioja and Fundación Dialnet.

Admissions and enrollment

Admissions and enrollment dates vary by program. For the 2026–27 academic year, the extraordinary admissions window for official master's programs ran from July 17 to September 3, and doctoral admissions ran from June 22 to July 30 and August 18 to September 3. Enrollment for Universidad de la Experiencia was open through September 18.
