Education through recreation
Fundació Verge Blanca is an educational organization based in Lleida that works in recreation and out-of-school education. Its activities center on training, youth clubs, residential camps, and educational and social projects for children and young people.
Training
The foundation runs Escola de l'Esplai de Lleida, which offers in-person and online courses with registration through its website. Published offerings include:
- Curs de Monitor/es de Lleure, a youth recreation leader course offered in fall and spring: €260, with a listed promotional price of €234.
- Premonitors/es de lleure, an introductory course offered during the Christmas break: €85, with a listed promotional price of €76.50.
- Curs en Perspectiva de Gènere al Món del Lleure, an online course on gender perspectives in youth recreation: €60.
- Pack menjador escolar, an online package covering school-cafeteria activities, food allergies, and food handling: €100.
The school also offers workshops, custom training, and subsidized courses, including a government-subsidized course in leading recreational activities for children and young people.
Camps and youth clubs
The foundation operates Casa de colònies Montsant and a network of its own youth clubs, known locally as centres d'esplai.

Recognition and leadership
La Paeria, Lleida's city government, awarded Escola de l'Esplai a plaque for educational merit. Its president, Joan Ramon Saura i Aranda, was elected coordinator of the Catalan Federation of Social Volunteering in the Terres de Lleida. Maria Rosa Mazarico Balagué became director of Escola de l'Esplai. The foundation publishes an annual activity report.
