About FECLEM
Fundación FECLEM is a private nonprofit that carries out court-ordered support measures—primarily curatorship—so people with mental health conditions can exercise their legal capacity on an equal basis with others. It was established in 2000 with the support of Federación Salud Mental Castilla y León and family associations for people with mental health conditions.
Where it operates
The foundation has four offices in Castile and León, in León, Burgos, Salamanca, and Valladolid. It serves the region and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Services and areas of work
Its professional team is organized into areas that work together to support each person:
- Social services: Direct contact with people under curatorship and support for their independence and quality of life.
- Financial services: Review of each person's financial and administrative situation and management of their finances.
- Legal services: Handling a curator's legal responsibilities, including asset inventories, account filings, court authorizations, and property-related matters.
- Assessment and early support: Initial case review and development of a first support plan.
- Administration: Appearing in court to accept or decline a proposed appointment.
- Development and communications: The foundation's financial management, partnerships, institutional relations, and public communications.
- Information and Guidance Service (SIO): A regional information and advice service for professionals, institutions, families, and individuals seeking guidance on legal support arrangements.

People it serves commonly have annual incomes between €10,000 and €20,000 and live in their own homes, rented housing, or supervised housing.
