Laboratory and environmental services

Founded in 2000, MicroAmbiental combines laboratory testing, consulting, and training in food safety, environmental services, water management, management systems for quality, environment, and risk, research and innovation, and the circular economy. Its work applies scientific methods and technical knowledge to industrial and environmental processes.

Laboratory testing

The laboratory conducts microbiological and physicochemical tests in four main areas:

• Water: drinking-water analysis under Royal Decree 3/2023; pool water under Royal Decree 742/2013 and Andalusia Decree 485/2019; surface water; wastewater discharges; water in facilities at risk under Royal Decree 487/2022; and reclaimed water.
• Food: microbiological testing for pathogens and indicators, allergen testing, and physicochemical testing of prepared meals, meat products, meat preparations, and other foods, including Listeria characterization.
• Outdoor environments: emissions and ambient-air testing, discharge analysis, and environmental inventories.
• Indoor environments: monitoring chemical and biological contaminants in clean rooms at food and pharmaceutical facilities, operating rooms, homes, and buildings with indoor-air-quality concerns.

Consulting and Legionella prevention

The company provides end-to-end Legionella control and prevention services, including health plans such as Legionella Sanitation Plans and Legionella Prevention and Control Plans; sample collection and testing under Royal Decree 487/2022; and specialized training for staff responsible for at-risk facilities.

Training

MicroAmbiental provides training for both current employees and people seeking work. Employee training may be funded through FUNDAE. Courses are adapted to labor-market needs and include:

• Food-handler training, required for the food industry.
• Legionella prevention and control under Royal Decree 487/2022.
• Quality systems.
• Circular economy.
• Climate change.
• Environmental management systems.
• Research, development, and innovation management systems.
