Cooperativa Verntallat

A cooperative rooted in Vall d'en Bas

Cooperativa Verntallat is an agricultural cooperative based in Puigpardines, in Vall d'en Bas, La Garrotxa, Girona. It takes its name from Francesc de Verntallat, a 15th-century remença leader, and since 2014 has used a shield inspired by the alder tree as a shared symbol across its farm stores.

The farm stores offer seasonal and house-made products, including figues negres (black figs), costellam for grilling or baking, and gelats (ice cream). The cooperative participates in the Catalan Government’s Venda de Proximitat program, regulated by Decree 24/2013, which identifies Catalan farmers who sell their products directly.

Events and community

The cooperative organizes events such as Agrofest, a farming festival held in 2024 and 2025, and the Cooperative Festival, held on December 7. It also hosts vehicle inspections for tractors and mopeds.
