Doblemando
A Valladolid-area workshop designing, manufacturing and installing driving-school dual controls and vehicle adaptations for people with disabilities.
About Doblemando
What Doblemando does
Doblemando is a workshop in La Pedraja de Portillo, Valladolid, specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of driving-school dual controls and vehicle adaptations for people with disabilities. It operates its own workshop and serves projects across Spain.
Dual controls for driving schools
The company builds dual-control equipment for passenger cars and heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses. Its passenger-car unit has height adjustment, clamps at the clutch and brake, an adjustable pedal plate and an optical-acoustic warning system. Heavy-vehicle controls use a direct-action tension cable without pulleys; a bar version is available for a limited number of models.
The company says its equipment is supported by Conjuntos Funcionales documentation, reducing legalization cost and avoiding a separate technical project for Spain's ITV vehicle inspection; Doblemando manages the required conformity report. It also installs and legalizes rear seats and offers warning devices, mirrors, stamped plates and driving-school roof signs.
Adaptations for people with disabilities
The catalog includes a steering-wheel accelerator (DF-01), wheelchair restraint (DF-02), swivel seat (DF-03), wheelchair lift (DF-04), side step (DF-05), América lever (DF-06), vehicle partition (DF-07) and removable steering knob (DF-08). Specialized sales staff adapt proposals for transportation and vehicle-access needs, including wheelchair passengers.
History
Raúl Martín González founded the workshop as Talleres Raúl in 1989 after automotive training at IFP Cristo Rey in Valladolid. From 1992 to 2001 it converted driving-school vehicles at Renault plants in Valladolid and Palencia and produced elements for companies including Telefónica, Sintel and Iberdrola. After collaborating with an equipment manufacturer from 1994 and working exclusively for it from 2001 to 2011, the workshop began designing its own systems under the Doblemando name, supported by engineering service for legalization documents.
Certification and contact
The equipment is backed by Spain's Unidad de Certificación del Automóvil. Address: Cantarranas 3, La Pedraja de Portillo, Valladolid. Phones: 983 55 33 80 and 677 456 050. Email: raul@doblemando.es.
Its work joins three stages that are often separate—manufacture, installation and legalization—which is particularly useful when a vehicle modification must pass inspection.
