Caro Import S.L. is a Spanish company based in La Garriga, Barcelona, that manufactures, imports, and distributes Argentine foods. Founded by brothers José and Alejandro Caro, it has operated since 1991 and reports more than 120 employees and three production facilities of its own.

Products and business

The company combines its own manufacturing with imports and distribution for other brands. Its facilities produce signature items such as Márdel dulce de leche and alfajores and Doña Petrona empanada discs. As an importer, Caro Import represents more than 20 established Argentine brands, with products including yerba mate, cookies, sweets, wines, and seasonings. It also distributes Argentine wines in Europe under its Caro Import Vinos line.

Customers and markets

Caro Import operates exclusively in the B2B market, supplying supermarkets, hypermarkets, specialty stores, food-service businesses, and manufacturers. Its distribution network reaches more than 30 countries across Europe, North America, and other markets.

Recognition

In 2024, Caro Import was included in the CEPYME 500 list, which recognizes 500 of Spain’s fastest-growing small and midsize businesses.
