Supporting social economy businesses in Asturias

Fundación para el Fomento de la Economía Social (FFES) is based in La Felguera, Langreo, Asturias, and works to advance the social economy in the region. It supports entrepreneurs and social economy organizations as they create, strengthen, and sustain their projects.

Business support

The foundation advises people who want to start a social economy business and supports them throughout the formation process. It also helps existing organizations consolidate and maintain their operations and answers employment, legal, and economic and tax questions.

Through the Asturias School for Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners, FFES supports women who want to start businesses and group ventures that are at least 50% owned by women, providing guidance and advice to help their companies grow stronger.

Social economy information and resources

The website explains the social economy and the types of organizations that make it up in Asturias, including cooperatives, worker-owned companies, and agrarian transformation societies. FFES also publishes quarterly social economy statistics for Asturias and provides information and support on major grant programs for these businesses.
