Legal and environmental expertise

Insta is a nonprofit worker cooperative specializing in environmental law. Its team combines legal and environmental expertise to provide advice, legal representation, and consulting, as well as environmental and regional studies and facilitated dialogue and public-participation processes. The cooperative takes a cross-disciplinary approach to sustainability.

Selected projects

Insta's work includes legal reports on rules for company travel plans, a comparative study of energy cybersecurity, and legal and tax analysis for the transfer of Fundació Emprius properties to community projects. It prepared a report for Greenpeace Spain on public participation and fair benefit-sharing in renewable energy projects. Other work includes facilitating community input on renewable energy in La Cerdanya, sustainability plans for Americana Film Fest, Produccions Saurines, and the Front festival, environmental certification for Tarragona's REC Film Festival, and the COMUNES solidarity energy-community project.

Research and public work

The cooperative publishes commentary on environmental law, regulations, and court decisions, including Spain's Royal Decree-Law 7/2026 on self-consumption and energy communities and a Supreme Court ruling on electric-vehicle chargers in shared garages. It also organizes working sessions, such as “Diàlegs per una Galícia Renovable” in Santiago de Compostela, and takes part in academic events.
