About Fundación No Somos Invisibles
Working with people with significant physical disabilities
Fundación No Somos Invisibles is a nonprofit based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. It works with people with cerebral palsy and other significant physical disabilities (PC/Dfs). The organization began in 2012 as Asociación No Somos Invisibles, founded by people with cerebral palsy and a supporter. It became a foundation in 2019 and divided its work into Social and Training areas in 2024.
Programs and activities
The foundation organizes its work around several projects:
- Projecte Cercle: a personal-development path based on self-awareness, designed and adapted for people with PC/Dfs and open to the wider community. Activities include adapted Kundalini yoga, the “Los Martes” discussion sessions, film discussions, art workshops, and cultural outings.
- Art-NSI: an art workshop within Projecte Cercle that provides a space for artistic expression, social inclusion, and visibility.
- Adapted Yoga: an accessible yoga program for people with PC/Dfs, also open to people without disabilities.
- Active People: an employment-integration project that trains participants to become qualified instructors and provides individualized follow-up through Active Mind to strengthen technical, communication, and emotional resources.
Participation and self-advocacy
The foundation describes itself as a non-caregiving organization: it works with people with disabilities, not on their behalf. People with cerebral palsy who are part of the foundation take an active role in designing and carrying out projects and are represented on the board and leadership team.
