FAE (Francisco Albero S.A.U.) is a European manufacturer based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain, that has designed and manufactured electrical and electronic automotive components since 1952. The company develops custom sensor solutions and customized OEM products for automotive, aerospace, power-tool, and major-appliance applications, and also supplies the independent aftermarket (IAM).

Products and Capabilities

Its catalog includes more than 5,000 OEM-quality references organized into four main product families:

• Engine management and other sensors: pulse sensors, solenoid valves, mass-airflow sensors, knock sensors, pressure sensors, oil-level sensors, exhaust-gas pressure and temperature sensors, solenoids, and oxygen sensors.
• Thermal management: thermostatic solenoid valves, temperature sensors, thermostat covers, thermistors, thermal switches, and thermostats.
• Ignition systems: ignition coils, spark-plug wires, and glow plugs.
• Switches and accessories: selector switches, brake-light and reverse-light switches, pressure switches and transmitters, keys, and push buttons.

Other products include auxiliary water pumps, parking sensors, ride-height sensors, and ABS/wheel-speed sensors.

International Reach

More than 80% of sales are exports, and the company serves more than 100 countries. In 2021, FAE joined the Preferred Supplier list of the Nexus Automotive International purchasing group. It has offered technical assistance to customers in Latin America since March 2020 and in Spain since 2019.

Milestones and Certifications

In 2018, FAE earned IATF 16949 certification and received a “Brand That Surprises” award for oxygen sensors at the Automotive Aftermarket Quality and Service Awards. That year, it introduced its Mobile Technical Center, described as a pioneering mobile technical-support system in Spain. In 2019, the company opened a 180-square-meter ESD room for manufacturing manifold absolute pressure (MAP), exhaust-gas pressure (EGPS), and gear-position sensors, with a capacity of 500,000 units per shift per year. In 2020, it began sponsoring Team 77 in the Dakar Rally. In 2022, it launched its first air-fuel-ratio (AFR) sensors and new parking sensors, along with the COX7 catalog, which includes 47 AFR references.
