CALSIBA
An EU-supported cross-border project to improve interoperability along the Sines–Badajoz logistics corridor through information and communications technology.
About CALSIBA
Cross-border logistics corridor
CALSIBA (Atlantic Logistics Corridor Sines–Badajoz) is a cross-border cooperation project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Spain–Portugal EP-INTERREG V A program (POCTEP). Its purpose is to improve interoperability along the logistics corridor between Sines and Badajoz, which is part of the European Union’s Atlantic Corridor in the TEN-T network.
Goals and approach
The project aims to support the competitiveness of cross-border businesses by developing and applying information and communications technology (ICT). Its goals include reducing administrative burdens, simplifying customs procedures, and making the logistics chain more dynamic by implementing an innovative freight-transport solution. It is intended to help position Euroace—the Extremadura, Alentejo, and Central Portugal Euroregion—as a gateway to Europe.

The project brings together the regions of Extremadura, Alentejo, and central Portugal, with two participating partners:
- In Extremadura: the public entity Extremadura Avante S.L.U.
- In Portugal: the Administration of the Ports of Sines and the Algarve, S.A.

- Implementation of the solution
- Testing and corrections
- Project management and coordination
- Project communications
