Fray Sulfato

Environmental Education Through Video

Fray Sulfato is the environmental education project of Óliver del Nozal, a biologist and environmental educator. He began publishing on YouTube in January 2017, using accessible language to explain natural processes for viewers with or without scientific training.

Ecology, Wildlife, and the Outdoors

Video topics include ecology, conservation, natural areas, botany, geology, wildlife observation, mushrooms, animal behavior, and other natural-history subjects. The website also features field guides covering birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, insects and other arthropods, tracks, plants, fungi, freshwater animals, and marine life.

Talks and Workshops

Alongside its digital content, Fray Sulfato offers talks, courses, and environmental education workshops for children and groups. Activities can be adapted to different audiences and subjects; inquiries are handled through a website form.

Community Support

The project says it is supported in part by YouTube memberships, contributions through Liberapay, and social media. It describes using that support to improve filming equipment and cover travel to recording locations.
