Spain's toy-industry association

The Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Juguetes (AEFJ), or Spanish Toy Manufacturers Association, was founded in 1967 to bring together Spain's toy industry. Its members include toy and game manufacturers, distributors, and subsidiaries, regardless of nationality, where their products are made, or who owns their capital. Its headquarters are at 1 La Ballaora, 03440 Ibi, Alicante.

Representation and services

The association represents the industry before public agencies and national and international institutions. Its goals include promoting the image of the toy industry and toys, expanding the international reach of Spanish toys, and strengthening member companies' competitiveness. To support that work, it organizes committees focused on industry representation, domestic-market promotion, internationalization, competitiveness, and adapting to legislation.

AEFJ also publishes industry information on exports, advertising, trade shows, and events. According to figures released by the association, Spanish toy exports totaled €244.5 million from January through May 2026, up 5.8% from the same period a year earlier.

Member commitments

• Safety: Supporting applicable and proportionate standards so toys remain safe consumer products.
• Responsible manufacturing: Since 1996, members have followed the ICTI Code of Business Practices.
• Ethical advertising: Adherence to the Children's Advertising Code, signed in 1993, is a membership requirement.
• Industry collaboration: Promoting cooperation among organizations and businesses across the sector.

Trade shows and events

The association shares information about and takes part in industry events, including Spiel Essen in Germany, Expo Toys from Spain in Los Angeles, Toys Milano in Italy, and the collectibles event ICONS.
