About the brotherhood

The Devout Brotherhood of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and Our Lady of the Angels, known as La Borriquita, is a religious brotherhood based in Huelva. Its sacred images are Jesus in his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and Our Lady of the Angels.

Activities and mission

The brotherhood says its work is built around three areas: worship, education, and social assistance. It also has a youth group, children's workshops, and a group of altar servers, and publishes materials such as newsletters and a Sunday Gospel reflection.

Processional heritage

The brotherhood has a mystery float and a canopy float, with dedicated sections covering its processional, musical, and ceramic heritage.

Recognition and events

In June 2026, the Spanish Royal Household officially granted it the title of Royal. The brotherhood also hosts its own events, including the Ciudad de Huelva Andalusian Saeta Contest and Balcones Cofrades, which held its sixth edition in 2026.
