SARIA Bio-Industries España is the Spanish subsidiary of SARIA SE & Co. KG, an international manufacturer of products for animal nutrition, agriculture, aquaculture, industrial and pharmaceutical uses, and the food industry. Its business model is circular: it uses animal byproducts and unused organic waste as raw materials. The company also generates renewable energy and provides services to the agricultural and food industries.

Research and development projects

The company participates in innovation projects aimed at improving byproduct processing. NEPAVE focuses on new microbiological-control strategies for processing poultry byproducts and ways to recover value from feather waste. MeCoHAP aims to improve fish-byproduct processing and the quality and preservation of the resulting fishmeal and oils. SARVAL Bio-Industries has applied for grants for both projects.

Recognition

The SARIA Group has received EcoVadis’s Gold Medal for its overall sustainability performance, placing it in the top 5% of companies evaluated worldwide. The company says it has maintained the gold rating for three consecutive years.
