Fundació Espavila

Promoting a culture of effort

Fundació Espavila is a nonprofit based in Granollers, Barcelona, that promotes a culture of effort and related values such as hard work, perseverance, and responsibility. Its work centers on scholarships, awards, and educational programs for specific groups.

Programs and awards

• Beques Educar Fomentant l'Esforç: grants for educational and recreational projects. Among the winners in the 11th round were “Escoles d'iniciació esportiva adaptada i inclusiva” by Associació de Lleure i Esport COMKEDEM in Barcelona and “Pilota oval al pati” by Rugby Club Bellvitge in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
• Premis Crea Contes: a short-story contest. A winning story in one edition was “La Formiga Riga” by Noriko Asai Cuadros.
• Premi Llegim Ciència (PCL): a science-communication award; the foundation held the presentation for its 13th edition.
• Premis Espavila: the foundation's own awards, with past recipients listed online.
• Talks and activities: presentations and discussion sessions led by specialist collaborators for schools, clubs, and other groups upon request.

Community partnerships

The foundation takes part in public events and local initiatives. It sponsored the 2026 Premis Dones Inspiradores, organized by El 9 Nou, and attended the awards ceremony. It has also visited scholarship-funded projects and participated in events held by other organizations, including a lunch organized by Fundació Brafa and the premiere of the play “El tresor del pirata Ferric.”
