Social action in the Girona region

Fundació SERGI (Servei Gironí de Pedagogia Social) is a private nonprofit that has worked in the counties of Girona for more than 45 years. Its work combines personal support, advocacy for rights, social education, and community engagement, with the goal of building a more inclusive society.

Programs and services

• Education: Programs that expand educational opportunities for children and young people and strengthen school communities.
• Social housing: Support for families and individuals at risk of exclusion and help finding housing, along with advocacy for social-housing policies.
• Participation and citizenship: Promoting civic participation to build a cohesive society where everyone has rights.
• Training: Professional education in social pedagogy and workplace training on managing diversity.
• Awareness: Activities that promote social awareness across the foundation's work.

Selected initiatives

The foundation runs Tastets d'Oficis, a career-orientation program for young people developed with Imagina't Cooperativa and Lloret de Mar City Council, and INSALT, a summer learning space that helps young people build personal, social, and employment skills. Its MicroBeques16+ campaign aims to fund studies for 25 teenagers in the 2026–27 school year. The social-housing program also brings vacant apartments into the affordable-rental market, offering owners benefits and guarantees.

Partnerships with businesses

Businesses can support the foundation through financial contributions and project partnerships, fundraising and awareness activities, and customized training in cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity, conflict management, and gender equity. They can also donate furniture and appliances through the El Traster Solidari program. Business partners include Càmping Lloret Blau, Cevasa, Ribas Álvarez, and Xerrac Fusters.

Quality and transparency

Fundació SERGI has an ISO 9001 quality-management system certified by Bureau Veritas. It publishes its annual report, bylaws, and strategic plan. Its 2025 report says the foundation supported more than 7,300 people.
