About La Fàbrica Girona

La Fàbrica is defined as much by its coffee as by the mix of people it brings together on a street in Girona's old town. Its founders say they came to the city through Christian Meier's cycling career and opened the café to bring speciality coffee into neighbourhood life. At 3 Carrer de la Llebre, close to the streets rising towards the cathedral, it is a proper breakfast stop rather than merely an espresso counter before you move on.

The menu on its website and recent customer accounts include breakfast and dishes worth a slower meal. Reviewers appreciate the coffee, presentation and choices such as bagels or toast, but also describe waits and a bill higher than for a quick coffee. That distinction helps: allow time here if you want a substantial breakfast before climbing the cobbled streets; if all you need is caffeine, there is another option on Cort Reial. According to its own site, La Fàbrica does not take ordinary table reservations.

The main site advertises daily opening from 09:00, with exceptions on 25 December and 6 January. Its pages disagree on closing time: the homepage says 17:00 and the “Find Us” page says 15:00. That difference need not disrupt a morning breakfast, but confirm it for a later visit. The phone number and official Facebook and Instagram accounts are linked by its own website. The cathedral stands in an area of slopes and uneven paving, so leaving time for the walk is wiser than calculating it to the minute.
