Fondon Group is a Spanish company that distributes industrial components and integrates automation systems. Its work is organized into three business lines: FRF Industrial supplies valves, instruments, pipe fittings, ATEX equipment, and connectors; FRF Services handles integration and turnkey industrial automation projects, including custom and specialized sampling systems; and a third line focuses on green hydrogen projects.

History

José Antonio Vega Fondón founded the company in 1974 as Suministros Industriales Fondón, initially distributing valves and pipe fittings to shipyards in Asturias. In 1980 it became Fondón Redes y Fluidos. It opened sales offices in Central America in 1985 and began serving the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in 1987. In 1995 it established a presence in process control and automation using Foundation Fieldbus technology. In 2010 it began manufacturing sampling systems for the oil and gas sector. Eduardo Vega Fernández became general manager in 2012. The company entered the gas industry in 2020 with valve and fitting lines for CNG, LNG, and LPG projects, added a green hydrogen business line in 2022, and refreshed its corporate identity and reorganized its business lines in 2024.

Programs and Innovation

The company has taken part in international business-promotion programs, including the 2024 International Promotion Program (File IDE/2024/000268) for the distribution and installation of photovoltaic systems, and the 2023 International Promotion Program (File IDE/2023/000613) for supplying and developing biofuel solutions.
