A cultural association with deep roots in Figueres

Casino Menestral Figuerenc is a cultural association in Figueres, Girona, combining community life, music education, and events. Its history reaches back to 1914, when Coral Germanor Empordanesa, one of its oldest sections, was founded.

A music school for many ages

The association’s music school has more than 90 years of experience and organizes more than 30 activities each year. Instruction is open to all ages and skill levels across a range of instruments and musical studies. Tuition is free for children ages 0–6 and adults over 65. New students can enroll through the school office.

Ensembles, festivals, and fairs

• Coral Germanor Empordanesa: founded April 15, 1914.
• Orquestra del Casino: a woodwind and brass ensemble of current and former students, with a repertoire spanning film scores, rock, soul, and familiar songs.
• Festival Jazz Figueres: organized by the association.
• Community fairs: book, collectibles, Playmobil, record, and film fairs; a flea market; and the May 1 Fair.

Membership

Members receive benefits connected with use of the Ateneu and cultural activities run by or held outside the organization. Membership is handled through the association’s office.
