About EcoSec

Dry toilets for events and projects

EcoSec rents and promotes portable dry toilets for fairs, festivals, and other events. The project presents them as a sustainable alternative to conventional portable restrooms and also works in permaculture and the social and solidarity economy.

Services

  • Rental and maintenance of portable dry toilets for events and fairs.
  • Delivery and installation of stalls at event sites.
  • Cleaning and servicing during events.
  • Waste handling through composting facilities.
  • Design and installation of permanent ecological toilets for projects and private customers.
  • Training, product and service design, and permaculture-related activities and events.

ANOIA 1.0 model

EcoSec's ANOIA 1.0 toilet has individual, unisex stalls measuring 2 meters high, 1 meter wide, and 1.5 meters deep. Waste is collected in containers and mixed with wood shavings to reduce odors and help with dehydration. Installation requires a fenced 2-meter safety area behind the stalls so containers can be removed when full.

Waste treatment

The waste is turned into compost by adding organic material, such as wood shavings with each use and/or food or yard waste, to support the microorganisms. After at least six months, and preferably a year, the material becomes nutrient-rich soil suitable for safe use in the field.

Collaborative model

EcoSec works with associations and projects connected to alternative lifestyles, permaculture, and the social and solidarity economy. It offers low-cost service to organizations that want to collaborate, operates with financial transparency, and accepts social currency or exchanges of goods and services.
