Long-term car rentals on the Costa del Sol

Purple Cars is a long-term vehicle rental company based in Estepona, Málaga, serving the Costa del Sol from Gibraltar to Mijas. It describes itself as the area’s largest independent long-term car rental company and offers a fleet of more than 175 used cars, each individually priced according to age, mileage, and condition. It does not operate from airports, though it can arrange transfers through partner companies.

Fleet categories

Vehicles are grouped into four categories for different budgets:

• Platinum (Premium): vehicles in the best condition, typically less than five years old and well equipped.
• Gold (Mid-Range): vehicles five to 10 years old, often with navigation and Bluetooth.
• Silver (Budget): cars around 10 years old, with higher mileage and possible minor cosmetic defects, but described as reliable.
• Bronze (Runabout): the oldest vehicles, with the highest mileage, intended for short local trips.

Rental terms

The minimum rental period is 30 days. Customers can choose a fixed-term contract or a renewable monthly contract that is easy to cancel. The advertised monthly rate is the final price, with no hidden fees or mandatory extras. All rentals include unlimited mileage, 24/7 roadside assistance, a courtesy car in the event of a breakdown, taxes, and third-party liability insurance. Customers pay for fuel and choose their damage protection: a standard refundable deposit or the Zero Excess option with no deposit. A credit card is not required.
