Mecanizados Kanter, S.A. specializes in precision-machined components for aerospace, defense, rail, research and development, special machinery, and oil and gas. It handles short, medium, and long production runs of small and medium-sized parts where dimensional accuracy and traceability are critical.

The company offers an end-to-end process, from developing and industrializing new parts or prototypes to assembling complete units or kits. It also manages outsourced grinding, heat treatment, surface treatment, and painting so finished parts can be delivered ready for assembly.

Capabilities and Equipment

• Five-axis multitasking: Mazak Integrex mill-turn machines with RoboJob robotic loading, and DN Solutions Puma SMX machines.
• Turning: CNC lathes with capacities up to 4,000 mm, turrets with up to 20 stations, live tooling, dual spindles, and bar feeders.
• Five-axis milling: high-speed Hermle, Heller, and Doosan machining centers, with Erowa pallet systems and tool magazines holding up to 200 tools.
• Wire EDM: five-axis Fanuc Robocut machines for submerged wire cutting with automatic threading.
• 3D metrology: a climate-controlled inspection room with Zeiss Accura and Mitutoyo Crysta Apex coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

CAD/CAM programming is done with GibbsCAM and Siemens NX. The company has 17 CNC machines and CMMs and exports 60% of its production.

• 17-4, 15-5, and 13-8 PH stainless steels, and 35NCD16 steel
• 2017, 2024, and 7475 aluminum alloys
• CuBe, CuZn, and CuNi copper alloys

Heat-by-heat traceability is maintained for every production lot.

Certifications and Quality

The company holds DNV-issued EN 9100:2018 certification, technically equivalent to AS9100D and JISQ9100:2016, for precision machining and assembly of aerospace components. Certificate No. 176398-2015-AQ-IBE-ACCREDIA was issued on May 19, 2024, and is valid through May 18, 2027. Mecanizados Kanter has also held ISO 9001:2015 certification continuously since May 19, 2009.

Customers and Programs

The company participates in aerospace programs including the A320, A330/340, A350, A400M, CN-212, CN-235, CN-295, and Eurofighter, as well as Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney engine programs. Its customers include Airbus Atlantic, CERN, Aernnova, ITP Aero, Roxel/Safran, CESA/Héroux-Devtek, CAF, Lectra, Mikron, APCO, SAPA, VMI, Matisa, and Corso C.
