About El Impostor

About El Impostor

El Impostor is a social party-game app for Android developed by JaPPSOFT SLU. In this word-and-deduction game, everyone except one player—the impostor—sees a secret word. The impostor receives only a hint. The other players try to spot who is bluffing before the impostor guesses the word.

How to play

  • Gather 2 to 20 players around one phone.
  • Pass the device to assign roles; regular players see the secret word and the impostor sees a hint.
  • Each player gives a clue related to the word without revealing it outright.
  • After discussion, the group votes for the impostor. If the vote is correct, the other players win; otherwise, the impostor wins.

The app lets the group choose one, two or three impostors and randomly assigns roles, words and the first turn. It is designed to avoid repeating words the group has already seen.

Features

  • Quick games for groups of 2 to 20
  • Works offline and does not require an account
  • No ads or registration, according to the developer
  • Names and word history stay on the device, with no profiles or tracking, according to the app description

Availability

El Impostor is offered for free on Google Play for Android devices. The listed developer is JaPPSOFT SLU, Spanish tax ID B86668027.
