Company History

The founding family moved from Guadix, Granada, to Elche, Alicante, in 1960. In 1984, the family entered the tire business with a shop in Elche; within two years, it had expanded to four more shops in the city. In 1986, INSA TURBO began retreaded tire production in Aspe. From 1990 to 2000, the group expanded nationally and internationally, established the MCE rubber-compounding plant, and launched its first European subsidiary, Tirso Pneus. Asociación Confortauto was formed in 2002. In 2006, the group formalized its corporate governance and signed a family protocol. Soledad France and the Tire Logistics division followed in 2007; Ecological Drive shops and Confortauto Travel Agency launched in 2009; and Pneu Maroc opened warehouses in Tangier and Casablanca in 2014. From 2010 to 2015, the group established itself as a leading tire distributor in Spain.

Sustainability

The group manages its sustainability work through the United Nations Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals and reports economic, social, and environmental impacts in a report inspired by Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. INSA and TALLANTS work on used-tire recycling and processing, with research and development aimed at reducing environmental costs. MCE leads the European VULCAIN project, approved by CDTI, to develop devulcanization technologies.
