A family-run Elche ice cream shop where a third-generation maker pairs classic flavors with desserts inspired by local pastry.
About Heladería Raquel by Marcos Elías
A family craft with a pastry counter’s imagination
Heladería Raquel grew out of a family ice cream trade: Marcos Elías learned the craft from his father, who learned it from his own. After more than 25 years in that business, Marcos and his wife, Raquel, began a new chapter in Elche in 2013, turning a former pastry shop into a place where ice cream and baking could share the same vocabulary.
The result is broader than a list of scoops. Alongside familiar flavors, the shop makes combinations inspired by Spanish desserts, including Tarta de Elche, tocino de cielo, crema catalana, and mille-feuille. Its current menu also moves into granizados, frozen cakes, and popsicles, with seasonal fruit flavors appearing when available. The shop says its ice creams and granizados are made on site with natural ingredients, giving the pastry-inspired ideas a clear link to the craft behind them.
