About Fundació Tr@ms

A collaborative network of schools

Fundació Tr@ms is a private nonprofit organization recognized as serving an educational purpose. It brings together schools in Catalonia around a collaborative project that makes innovation part of each school's identity. The foundation has celebrated its 25th anniversary, placing its roots in the mid-1990s.

A broad educational community

The network includes more than 2,000 teachers and 20,000 students at schools across Catalonia. Member schools hold open houses and offer high school and vocational programs; information about these opportunities is shared through the foundation.

Professional development and school innovation

The foundation advises and trains schools working on innovation and offers a Smart seal. Its work includes:

  • Collaborative teacher groups in science, music, English, and robotics. They meet in person at the beginning and end of the school year and stay connected online.
  • Projects involving students from multiple schools, including the Mostra de Recerca de Batxillerat, the Smart City Collaborative Robotics project, iM'Endevines for early-childhood education, and ContesNet for elementary school.
  • Platforms for sharing teaching practices, including Share to Learn, with Padlet boards for elementary school, middle and high school, and literature.
  • European projects such as Co.De, which addresses early school leaving through co-designed learning pathways for students ages 12 to 18.

Partnerships

The foundation works with educational institutions, universities, and technology companies. Its international initiatives include the eighth edition of Global Teaching Labs with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
