Egisbert S.L. is a textile company based in Dosrius, Barcelona, specializing in the manufacture of waterproof technical fabrics and dyeing services. Its work serves two markets: mattress protectors for hospitals, hotels, and homes, and sample dyeing for the fashion industry.

History and Development

The business began in early 1976 in a workshop in Argentona, Barcelona, and was formally incorporated two years later by its founder and current general manager, Joan Carmona. It started with hand-printed T-shirts and expanded into flocking, calendering, weaving, raising, dyeing, and bleaching. The company remains family-run, with a second generation now involved in management.

Products and Capabilities

• Polyurethane (PU) and PVC coatings for woven and knitted fabrics used in technical mattress protectors.
• Technical PVC film without phthalates, as well as PU film, available in different weights.
• PVC lamination and PU and PVC induction coating.
• Hot-melt laminates, supported by recently added equipment to meet demand.
• Dyeing and bleaching services, including a department specializing in fashion samples.

The company has 10,000 square meters of facilities in Dosrius, where it carries out vertically integrated production and manages the full process, from weaving through finishing.

Projects and Innovation

Egisbert S.L. is developing the IRTEXT project, focused on textile research and development. It has also expanded its research laboratory to study and create new fabrics.
