Grupo Mercoguadiana

Agriculture and Livestock in Extremadura

Grupo Mercoguadiana is an Extremadura-owned business group founded in 1991 to serve the needs of farmers and livestock producers in the region. Its operations are organized around centers across the Vegas del Guadiana, where crops grown in the area are received, stored, and prepared.

Business Areas

• Agriculture: solid fertilizers, fertilizer blending, seeds, plant health, and agricultural services.
• Livestock: compound feed, animal health, raw materials, and livestock marketing.
• Food and agriculture: non-GMO corn and durum wheat semolina.
• Advisory services: the ASEMER program provides technical and administrative support for farmers and livestock producers, including documentation, grants, registrations, and filings.

Feed Production and Sales

The group operates two compound-feed plants with advanced technology, producing and selling feed for all livestock species using tailored formulas. It also sells animal-health products, veterinary medicines, and livestock equipment to help maintain the health of farms.

Centers and Retail Brands

The company has operating centers across the Vegas del Guadiana. Its website gives different figures in different places—30 centers in one section and 20 in another. Its brands and businesses include Agricentros, Mercoplus, Jager, Mercogarden, MercoVET, MercoEnergy, and the Peluditos dog-grooming salons.

Sustainability

Through its Sustainable Agriculture Program, the group says the raw materials it processes and sells come from sustainable sources. It works with Extremadura farmers on quality control and the promotion of sustainable farming practices.
