About Manufacturas JBA (Grupo JBA)
Plastic Folders and Packaging
Manufacturas JBA, also known as Grupo JBA, is a company with a production center in Zaragoza that designs and manufactures covers, folders, envelopes, briefcases, document holders, and rigid and flexible packaging. It describes itself as Spain’s largest manufacturer of plastic sleeves and folders, with more than 50 years in business. The company began in 1969, when Julián Bona Antomás founded Manufacturas J.B.A. to make PVC sleeves and folders for the textile and stationery industries.
Growth and Manufacturing Capabilities
The second generation industrialized the business, acquiring its first automated high-frequency welding lines in the early 1990s, creating a sheet-welding section with three robotic lines, and adding flatbed and roll-to-roll screen printing. Under the third generation, the company diversified and began expanding internationally in 2014. In 2017, it acquired an automated ultrasonic-welding line for school covers and book jackets. In 2018, it supplied its first UV flexo-printed envelopes and covers, and in 2019 it developed a rigid-products section with a hot-stamping press.
