AMBici

Barcelona’s metropolitan electric bike-share

AMBici is the public bike-sharing service for the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. Its fleet consists entirely of high-end electric bikes. Riders unlock a bike by scanning a QR code in the mobile app and can return it to any station in the network. The service connects 15 municipalities and is designed to complement public transportation.

How it works

Registration is free through the website or AMBici app, using a tmb.cat account or creating a new one. The service runs 21 hours a day, from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m., every day of the year. The app locates nearby stations, shows available bikes and docks, unlocks the automatic lock, and confirms that a bike has been returned properly.

Passes and rates

• Annual AMBici pass: €40 per year. Each ride’s first 30 minutes cost €0.15; each additional 30 minutes costs €0.50, up to a two-hour maximum. After two hours, the charge is €5 per hour or part of an hour.
• AMBici + Bicing metropolitan flat-rate pass: €65 per year, with AMBici’s usage terms and access to Bicing at its applicable rates.
• AMBici + Bicing metropolitan pay-per-use pass: €53 per year, with AMBici’s usage terms and access to Bicing under its pay-per-use rates.

• Two-day flexible pass (48 hours): €9, including the first 30 minutes of each ride.
