Sinera - Mutualitat Veïnal

A neighborhood mutual founded in 1994

Sinera - Mutualitat Veïnal is a nonprofit social benefits mutual established in November 1994. It grew out of burial funds run by neighborhood associations in Catalonia, where members shared the cost of a neighbor's funeral. Its founding and sponsoring organizations included CONFAVC, Federació Comarcal del Baix Llobregat, FAV de Barcelona, and FAV de L'Hospitalet.

Membership and reach

According to figures published on its website, more than 135 neighborhood associations across Catalonia work with Sinera, and the mutual protects more than 48,000 people in the region. Its General Assembly is the organization's governing body.
